Yoga for Life

Ashtanga Inspired Yoga to help develop strength, balance and flexibility - of body and mind - wherever you are in life, for the rest of your life.

About me

I have been practising yoga for over thirty years, including a dedicated Ashtanga yoga practice for nearly nine years, and have been teaching locally since 2019.

I am certified to teach by the British Wheel of Yoga and have completed over 450 hours of teacher training, including a two-year 350-hour diploma at Triyoga in London, with Anna Ashby and Tony Watson, 80 hours of advanced teacher training in Ashtanga with David Swenson, and a further 40 hours of advanced teacher training in Ashtanga with Scott Johnson. I am currently taking my 300 hour Advanced Teacher Training at The Shala, London, with Gingi Lee and Melanie Cooper.

I am also deeply grateful to my other wonderful teachers: Nea Ferrier, Andy Gill, David Garrigues, Philippa Asher and Richard Rosen.

About Ashtanga Yoga

The Ashtanga Yoga method was developed in Mysore, India, in the early 20th century and is characterised by a set sequence of postures and transitions which are synchronised precisely with the breath. The practice can be modified to suit the individual and gradually becomes more challenging as the student becomes more practised.

In my Ashtanga Inspired Yoga classes, I honour the overall method of Ashtanga yoga, but I adapt the sequence in various ways to best support my students and their lifestyles.

Classes

As I am currently splitting my time between Dubai and the UK , I will only be teaching online until 2025. I teach a regular online class at 10.30am - 12pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays at a cost of £10 per class (first class is free). This is open to all levels although some familiarity with yoga is helpful. Please message me for the link or to discuss private online lessons or ad hoc in person lessons in the Hawkhurst and Cranbrook area.
